Church Council

Hello, my name is Ed Schaefer, Jr. I am the current council president at GLC. I was raised in Greenford, and in this church. My amazing wife, Jennifer, and I were married here in 1995. This church was instrumental in helping raise our two adult sons, Evan and Luke. They have also embarked on continuing the family farm in the heart of Greenford. I am employed as a bus driver for South Range Local school district. I also operate a beef cattle farm on the east side of town. I enjoy helping my wife with her childhood dream of breeding Old English sheepdogs! We became grandparents in 2021, 2023, and again in 2025! The end of my story is this….. God is good! Come and see!

Hi, my name is Eric, and I am the vice president on council. Along with my wife, Cindy, we became members at GLC in 2004. We have a daughter named Emma, and a son named Jack. I have worked at UPS as a senior account manager for 27 years. My wife and I are lifelong residents of Boardman. I am proud to call GLC home and to have raised my children in this church community.

As a third generation member of Greenford Lutheran Church, I’ve been blessed to call this congregation home throughout my life—from baptism and first communion to active membership today. I currently serve as secretary of council and oversee stewardship and finance. With a professional background in accounting, I work in the Canfield/Salem area and am passionate about using my experience to support the church’s mission and financial health. It’s an honor to serve a community that has given so much to my family and me.

I’ve been worshipping at Greenford Lutheran for 18 years. I love to teach Sunday school, coordinate VBS, Christmas pageant, anything with the kiddos! I have been married to my husband, Darrin, for 32 years this December. We have three beautiful children, Lane, Olivia, and Lee. We have one grandson named Isaac. Some of my hobbies are growing plants, reading, yoga, bike riding, and camping.

Rod Kaiser faithfully serves on Greenford Lutheran Church’s council as secretary and property chair. He offers his time and talents to support the care and stewardship of the church’s physical resources. Guided by his commitment to the Church and its’ mission, Rod works to ensure that all church facilities are maintained with excellence, providing a safe, welcoming, and sacred environment for worship, fellowship, and ministry. goes here

My name is Andrea and I am the evangelism chair on council. I have been coming here since about 35 years ago when I was in high school! I have raised my family in this church and it has helped mold each of us.

Hi, my name is Emma and I am the chair for digital media on GLC council. This encompasses the church Facebook and website. I have been coming to this church with my family since I was 2 ½ years old. My dad, Eric, is also on council. I was born and raised in Boardman, Ohio. Outside of church, I am a registered nurse and reside in Brimfield.
